College Readiness for All
Eileen has two decades of experience working in education and promoting literacy. She helped to launch Walter Payton College Prep in 2000, one of the top-ranked schools in the country and has supported principals and teachers in over 130 schools in Chicago in developing systems to promote college readiness and individual student growth through a focus on critical literacy. She has worked with elementary schools and high schools with large ELL and low-income populations.
Through Eileen Murphy Buckley's 360-degree approach to teaching critical literacy, students investigate texts through a full spectrum of learning modalities, harnessing the excitement of performance, imitation, creative writing, and argument/debate activities to become more powerful thinkers, readers, and writers. 360 Degrees of Text helps kids develop the strategies and the language they'll need to succeed!
